i love climbing. even on days like today when i fail REPEATEDLY at things i’ve done many times before and leave blood on the wall and my clothes … i love that it teaches me something about myself every single time i put on my shoes and attempt even one move. i love that it wears out my body and my mind and is a perfect marriage of mental and physical effort for me. it engages every fiber of my being. a friend of mine recently asserted that climbing is, perhaps, my meditation. maybe he’s on to something. …
